Theater Style Seats
Well your back here with Mr. Electric Sugar rush himself.
Electric who? You say. You know who.
AvMaxMan who else?
I sure hope you can keep up with me tonight folks cause when I’m running on electric sugar there’s no telling what I might get up to. So strap yourself in and enjoy the ride cause your on another cruise towards home theater heaven. Now lately I have been going off on a tangent about all sorts of different kinds of home theater seats.
I may not have covered all of the brands and options available but I will tell you this much, I have covered what I like and I am damn sure many of you like what you have seen so far. Right?
If not let me know cause the MaxMan isn’t all about himself in fact I’m thick skinned so if you have any suggestions or concerns let me know.
Movie Theater Seats
I thought I should take a peek at some movie theater style seats, while they are not on the top of my list there is definitely a demand for this type of seat and for some people having a true home theater experience is not just about the size of the screen or the popcorn you eat. It’s also about having a realistic theater experience at home and this is where this type of seat fits in.
Now I will admit that before I started this review my expectations weren’t exactly high but I do have to say that I have been pleasantly surprised at what is available in this style of furniture.
I mean when I started out I figured you just pick your color and how many you want and then just bolt them down to the floor. But no MaxManiacs I was wrong.
Can you believe it? I must have been low on electric sugar that day and feeling a little light headed.
Features
You’re probably thinking that there aren’t too many features available with this style but even I was pleasantly surprised and you should be too.
- Seats have contoured high backs for extra comfort and support
- Folding capability for quick and easy storage (if needed)
- Smooth rocking action for relaxation
- Extra wide seats with thick cushioning
- Built-in cup holders are standard of course
- Footings can mount directly into the floor or riser depending on your set up
- Seats are sold individually or in rows of 2 up to 5 depending on the style and manufacturer.
Final Word
Most of these seats are a little wider with higher backs than standard theater ones with fold up armrests to give you a lounger or loveseat if your heart so desires
All of the usual options that are available with HT Recliners (like leather, micro fiber in various colors) are also standard options for this style of seat. One thing I should point out is most manufacturers don’t supply the hardware for fastening the furniture to the floor. If you choose not to mount the seats to the floor it is recommended that you mount them to a floor plate, this will ensure stability.
Trust me you don’t want to start rocking and flip over on your back. That would just be a waste of good popcorn and soda.
