Welcome to my home everybody, yes you are now in the good graces of Mr. AV Maxman. You know that funky little home theater enthusiast with his weird little hat.

Yep I’m back on track again to give you another installment on what’s going on in my own little world. If you have been following the news lately you have probably heard about Sony’s victory (with their Blu-ray disc format) over Toshiba (HD-DVD).

Well hey one positive is that you don’t have to make a choice with what format to choose anymore. Right?

However I do have some bad news for all of you Maxmaniacs out there, and that is your choices for HT furniture aren’t going to be as easy. That’s because today the Maxman is looking at yet another reputable furniture brand and that means more choice for you before you buy.

Like a lot of manufacturers the Maxman has covered Palliser has been around for some time and started with very humble beginnings.

The company was started 1944 by Abram Albert DeFehr a recent immigrant to Canada at the time. Based in the city of Winnipeg (Yes Winnipeg is the ancestral land of “Winnie the Pooh”. Trust me I’m not kidding) Mr DeFehr started making wooden furniture by hand in his own home and then as business took off he moved it into a barn which would become the first official factory for Palliser Furniture.

To cut a long story short, today Palliser is a leading specialty furniture producer in Canada and provides employment for 4000 workers 70 countries worldwide. They are actively involved in various communities throughout the world funding many philanthropic foundations and sharing the profits with these communities also they definitely make an effort to stick to their mission and values…..

Construction of these seats starts with standard kiln-dried hardwoods that are used to give the base and frame extra strength and of course durability. 9 gauge steel springs are used to give total support to the seat cushions and backrest, every cushion has 2lb high density foam for maximum comfort.
