Hello my fellow home theater nuts and welcome back to AVMaxMan.com
Your gateway to home theater heaven. Right? Well hey that’s what I tell myself so I’m not gonna tell you any different am I?
So let’s get on with it then shall we?
I was chatting with my little girl Missymax the other day (when she took time out from watching “High School Musical II” of course) and she said “Dad you should write something on Corner TV stands because some people don’t have lots of room and may need to put the TV in a corner”
So today the MaxMan is going to look at Corner TV stands.
Thanks Missymax!
Why the Corner?
As you all know there a plenty of options when it comes to accessorizing your home theater equipment and although corner TV stands may not be your cup of tea.
There is definitely a need for them and they are great space savers as well.
A corner stand is perfect for when you don’t have a lot of extra space (like 1 bdrm apartment) for your system (and you don’t want it to be an eyesore either) but you need it to be organized and tidy.
Another reason could be that the design and set up of your room make the corner the perfect place to locate your TV.
Either way there is an abundance of great quality corner television stands available whatever your budget may be.
They are available in all shapes and sizes as well as various materials like wood, glass, powder coated steel and laminates.
What Kind of Stand Do I Need?
Ok. What kind of TV do you have? Since a TV will usually be your largest piece of equipment its size should be the first thing you consider.
Next: How many components do you have? Maybe a Blu-ray disc player plus an Amplifier. This will help you decide how many shelves you need. Another thing you should consider is the other décor you have in the room.
Do you want your stand to match or blend in? This will help you decide the kind of finish you want.
Now after asking yourself those questions you need to know if what you want will fit in the corner space you have.
You may think that it’s just a corner which it is but, yes there is a but. Is the corner located next to any doors or windows?
If you answered yes then it’s possible they may limit your usable space also you may find that you get some glare on your TV screen from being so close to the window or door or even an indoor light for that matter but hey you can always remove the bulb too so that one is an easy fix eh!
Don’t forget to check where your plug in power will be. Sure you can run an extension cord but for aesthetic reasons as well as safety keeping it all contained behind the corner stand is always your best option.
Picking something that has a good cable management system as well as ventilation for your components is always a good idea too.
So I’ve taken up enough of your time for now.
Get to it and find something you like.
Maxman Out.
